Letterkenny Gaels Club GAA News:
Letterkenny Gaels are pleased to announce that we will be presenting the Monday night Bingo in Arena 7 every Monday night. The Jackpot this week is €1600 Doors from 8pm. Eyes down 9pm.
The senior footballers recorded a good win over Burt at the weekend. Both the senior and reserves are away to Naomh Ultan on Saturday. Throw in times are 5.30pm (reserve) and 7pm (senior). All support welcome.
The club are running Guthanna 1916 which is a schools public speaking competition next Monday 25th April and Tuesday 26th April beginning each evening at 7pm sharp in the Gaels Clubroom at the Clubhouse, Thorn Road, Letterkenny. The competition is open to students in Sixth Class and students in secondary schools. Participants may apply to take part through their school or their GAA club. Gaeltacht scholarships for Colaiste Aoidh Mhic Bhricne are available and could be won by young Letterkenny Gaels members. The deadline for applications is 29th April. Please see Club Facebook for more details.
The underage football training continues every Sunday morning at Pairc na nGael from 11am to 12 noon. Please bring water and a mouth guard. New players are always welcome.
The U-14 footballers played Naomh Colmcille at Pairc na nGael on Monday evening and unfortunatelylost out by 3 points in what was a high scoring and entertaining game.
The U-16 football lads had a good win over Cloughaneely in an invitational tournament in Annagry at the weekend. They are now through to the Naomh Mhuire organised tournament finalTraining continues on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 5.15pm.
Outdoor Hurling training for U-6, U-8 & U-10 continues every Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Hurls and helmets provided. New players welcome.
U-12 to U-18 hurling continues every Tuesday evening from 6.30pm.
The Senior Ladies had their first game of the season when they took on Fanad Gaels at Pairc na nGael. The girls lost out to a strong Fanad side. They are fixed to play Mc Cools in 2 weeks time. Circuit training continues every Wednesday night in the clubhouse from 7 to 8pm.
U-12 girls football training takes place at the pitch every Sunday morning from 11am-12noon. All welcome.
This year we will have Ladies and Girls football for u-12, u-14, Minor and Senior.
Michael Murphy Sports are currently stocking a range of Gaels Club merchandise including jerseys, training tops, hats & scarfs.
Camogie Training continues at Pairc na nGael every Monday from 6pm-7.30pm for U12s, 14s, 16s & 18s and Friday evenings from 6-7.30pm for U8s, 10s, 12s & 14s.
