It was a disappointing outing in Glenfin at the weekend for both reserves and seniors as they both suffered their first defeat in their 2016 league campaign. Reserves: CCF 0-7 Glenfin 1-11. Seniors: CCF 0-7 Glenfin 0-13
Seniors: With Glenfin having recorded 3 loses from 3 so far in the league; they were determined to set matters straight as they welcomed Cloughaneely to Páirc Taobhoige on Sunday afternoon. Glenfin were first out of the blocks and had knocked over 4 points before the visitors managed to secure their first, thanks to a Shaun McGuire free in the 10th minute which was to be Cloughaneelys only score in the first 20 mins of play. Glenfin quickly brought it back to a 4 point difference. Cloughaneely weren’t on form on the day but managed to add to their tally in the final 10 mins of the 1st half, with 3 converted frees from Martin McGuire. Cloughaneely’s only point from play during the game came from Ciaran Cobbie McFadden in the 28th minute bringing the score to CCF 0-5 | Glenfin 0-6 at half time.
The 2nd half progressed much like the 1st with Glenfin getting scoring proceedings under way by knocking over 3 points within 5 mins (2 from frees). Glenfin held Cloughaneely scoreless from play throughout the 2nd half, with 2 converted frees from Martin McGuire in the 41st and 45 min being the only additions to the Cloughaneely score in the 2nd half.
Final Score 0-7 | 0-13

***Minors – Northern Board Div 2 League***
Well done to our minor team on winning the Northern Board Div 2 League quarter final last week against Glenswilly; in what was a highly entertaining encounter! Final Score CCF 2-07| Glenswilly 2-4. It was quite a low scoring first half with the score 0-3|0-2 leading up to the half time whistle; with points from Ciaran McFadden and Michael McHugh (2). Cloughaneely were then awarded a free which Michael Mulhern dropped short near the goal mouth; Ciaran McFadden, who had an outstanding game, managed to win the ball in the midst of the Glenswilly defence and hit the back of the net just before the half time whistle. Half Time Score: 1-3|0-2. Cloughaneely were again the stronger side in the 2nd half with Jason McGee and Ciaran McFadden adding further points. A strong performance from Michael McHugh saw him rewarded with a goal in the 21st minute. Glenswilly were awarded a penalty in injury time which brought them within 2 points of Cloughaneely; however a further point from Ciaran McFadden stretched the difference out to 3 points just before the full time whistle! Well done to players and management. Strong performances all round!
***U-16 Boys***
