How to Style your hair for Spring/Summer
These past few weeks we have been talking a lot about the latest spring/summer hair trends and we’ve looked at some beautiful colour and fantastic cuts that have graced the recent catwalks of the biggest designers in the world.
There are also of course some very popular styling trends that have been showcased by some of the biggest celebrities across the pond.
Patrick has asked Rachel one of our Designers to talk us through some of the most wearable styles that should be embraced this season.
Rachel says “Trends are great for inspiration; they will provide you with the little push that you might need to try something new- it may be out of your comfort zone- but remember that you can put your own personal twist to any style and make it work for you”.
Boxer Braids
The Kardashian’s seem to be everywhere but like them or loathe them they do provide some great inspiration for change.
Their very latest hair inspiration comes in the form of Boxer Braids! Leave it to Kim to turn a hairstyle usually seen in playgrounds to a chic do! This luxe, polished style looks adorable, chic and says -don’t mess with me all at once what is not to love about it?
It is achievable with all hair types, is perfect for bad hair days and works just as well with a glamorous look as a more casual look.
Next Day Waves
It’s time to embrace day old hair! What this means is natural loose hair that was styled the day before, giving your hair beautiful texture. Calvin Klein showcased wonderful next day waves on the spring catwalk that left us really wanting to see more of it! Rachel says that this is certainly one of the most wearable styles at the minute. Think subtle waves not curls, textured messy and undone like Kate Hudson.
Half Up/Half Down
The half up/half down trend is perfect for both medium and long hair and can be personalised to you. This style took centre stage on the red carpet at this year’s Oscars with stars such as Diane Kruger, Alicia Vikander and Brie Larson sporting beautiful half up do’s; each one elegant, beautiful but very different.
The Half Up/Half do works in bun format like Alicia, with hair accessories like Brie or why not be a little more experimental with Braids and twists like Diane Kruger.
Rachel’s advice is to have fun with your hair and don’t be afraid to try something new.
