A lost dog is desperately seeking its family.
The dog, a Lassie-lookalike, is currently with a foster family but hasn’t given up hope of finding its real family.
This is Lassie’ story!
“Do you remember you let me out? I went for a little wander, I think I went a bit further than I should have, I’m not as young as I used to be and my legs got tired.I was taken to the dog shelter in letterkenny and the man there told me I was a stray and would have to stay 5 days unless my owner came for me. He was great though, he gave me some dinner and a big bowl of water. As the days passed my heart jumped just a little every time the door opened,you had come to get me, I was going home,but it was never you,you never came. Did you even know I was in the dog shelter or did you think I just wandered off and got lost? One day the door opened, I didn’t even lift my head,I had given up hope. My kennel door opened and this lovely lady put a lead on me and said ”come on little one, you’ll be ok now, you’re coming with me ”.Animals In Need had come to take me out. I’m in a foster home now, the lady who is looking after me is great but my heart is broken, I just want to go home. Every minute of every day, I’m waiting for you. My body is getting a little bit stiffer every day. Please come find me before my body gets too tired and I never get to see your face again x
