The family of the late Dr Maureen Bonar Scally gratefully acknowledge and express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us during our recent bereavement.
A special word of thanks to all of our families, relations, neighbours and friends of the Scally Practice from all over Donegal and across the country who attended the wake at the family home on Castle Street, the funeral at St Eunan’s Cathedral and sent messages of sympathy in one form or another.
We would like to thank all those who sent mass cards or sympathy cards, telephone messages and floral tributes as well as those who gave donations to Mary’s Meals.
A special thank you to Professor Jim Egan, and to all the doctors and nurses at The Mater Private Hospital, Dublin, for the magnificent care they gave to our mother as well as to her carers Ita Birch and Cecilia Harvey.
A special word of gratitude to Fr Eamon Kelly, Administrator, St Eunan’s Cathedral, for his caring support and as Chief Celebrant of the concelebrated Requiem Mass along with so many priests from the diocese.
Our sincere thanks to Mr Joe O’Donnell and Catriona Shiels for their beautiful singing and music during the funeral mass and Ronnie and Billy Patterson for their eloquent musical tribute.
We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr Charlie McClafferty, Funeral Director, Churchill and his staff for their professional, supporting and caring manner of the funeral arrangements. Also, thank you to the gravediggers who prepared mum’s grave at Conwal Cemetery.
It would be just impossible to acknowledge all of you on an individual basis such was the volume of support we received, but it made those difficult days for the family more tolerable. Thank you all so much from all of us, the Scally family.
Mrs Scally and her husband Dr Paddy Scally provided care to generations of families in Letterkenny and many parts of north Donegal for over 60 years through the Scally Practice.
Their rich legacy for professional and compassionate care and support to patients continues with Dr Dara Scally and Dr James McDaid and the staff at Scally House, Justice Walsh Road.
We were all so proud and privileged to call her our mum and ‘Nana’ and we will miss her sorely from our lives. As it would be impossible to thank everyone, please take this acknowledgment as a token or our sincere appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
The Months Mind Mass will take place at 10a.m on Saturday, April 16 in St Eunan’s Cathedral.
