DONEGAL Ladies gaelic teams impressed with all three teams in action on Sunday securing good victories.
The Senior Ladies won their big Ulster derby clash against Cavan in Donegal Town by 2-07 to 1-02.
Donegal got off to a superb start and were 2-01 to 0-00 clear within the opening six minutes, Amber Barrett and Geraldine McLaughlin scoring the goals.
They led by 2-03 to a single point at the break, adding four more points after half-time.
Catriona Smith got the Cavan goal but the visitors could do nothing more to stop seven wins in a row by the Donegal Ladies.
The two sides meet again in two weeks in the Lidl Division 2 semi-final.
Best wishes to Amber Barrett on her recovery from the injury she received during the game.
The Donegal U14 Championship team had a great result on Sunday too, travelling to Killyclogher and defeating Tyrone in round 2 of the Ulster Championship.
The Donegal girls trailed 1-03 to 0-01 at the break after playing against a very strong breeze in the first half. They were unlucky not to be ahead against a tough Tyrone side, missing with a number of chances.
But the Donegal players made no mistake after the break as both Niamh Walsh and Megan Havlin netted, with points from nine other players in the team. Fourteen clubs were represented across the starting 15.
Donegal eventually won the game 2-13 to 1-05 and travel to Armagh in Round 3 in three weeks’ time.
The U14 development team faced the long journey to Newry to take on Down, but the journey didn’t seem to affect the girls as they had a comprehensive victory over the hosts, winning 6-14 to 2-03. They host Antrim in Termon next Saturday.
