Clever kids at one Donegal national school have come up with a unique fund-raising idea – a pedal-powered cinema.
The children of Ballyraine National School are getting behind the fundraiser at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Letterkenny next Saturday.
Volunteers will provide the electricity for the big screen by cycling – with 56 cyclists needed to power all the way through the 90 minutes of Big Hero 6.
Raymond Sweeney, chair of the Letterkenny school’s Parents Association, said: “It’s certainly an unusual idea but it’s also brilliant fun too.
“We’re hoping to recruit 56 cyclists to cycle for 15 minutes each with each cyclist raising €100 each.”
Watching the movie is open to the public.
