DELIGHT AS DONEGAL SHOP SELLS €120,000 WINNING LOTTO TICKET

The winning numbers!

The winning numbers!

Somebody in Lifford is celebrating today after scooping €120,409 on the lotto.

The lucky person, who matched five numbers and the bonus ball, bought their ticket in Gallagher’s Newsagent and Foodstore.

Owner Christopher Gallagher congratulated the winner on their Facebook page but nobody knows who scooped the cash.

The local winner was just one of two people who matched the five numbers plus the bonus in last night’s jackpot draw which was worth more than €5 million.

The town is rife with rumours as to who won the cash.

One local woman said she was part of a consortium but they had checked the numbers – and weren’t the lucky winners.

“The excitement was huge when we heard as we do our consortium in Gallaghers on Butcher Street.

“Some of the girls were even planning on what they would spend the cash on. But we checked and they aren’t our numbers.

“I’m delighted for whoever won it. I hope it’s someone from Lifford who really needs the cash. That would be great.”
