The footballing fraternity in Donegal have been paying their tributes to the late Jordan Curran who tragically passed away earlier this week.
The community of St Johnston have been left in total shock at the untimely passing of the popular local man who they say touched the lives of many with his wonderful personality and zest for life.
Jordan was a talented footballer, and was part of a Finn Harps U17 development side that won the Macron Galway Cup in 2013.
Curran had played more recently with Raphoe Town and before that with Kildrum Tigers were he played from U8’s right through to the club’s senior side.
Some of his former Finn Harps teammates and management who were part of this successful cup winning team in Galway have paid tribute to Curran.
Finn Harps Underage Facebook page posted a number of photos of Jordan from that glorious week in August, 2013.
Teammate from that period Jordan McLaughlin wrote, “I’m finding it hard to put into words the news which I heard this morning, it’s safe to say I’ve never been so shocked!
“I didn’t know Jordan overly well at all, I only had the privilege of playing with him for a number of months with Finnharps Underage!
“Very talented young man who was a true gentleman to everybody. One of the best and brightest personalities I’ve ever seen, never seen the lad without a smile on his face.
“As I said I didn’t know him well but am still struggling to get my head around what exactly had happened so I cannot imagine what his family and friends are going through at this moment in time
“My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time and I extend my deepest sympathies to all effected by this tragic news ❤ rest in peace Jordan, you won’t be forgotten
Former coach Tommy Canning also paid tribute saying, “Devastating news to hear. Such a lovely lad.”
