LEAGUE OF IRELAND: Finn Harps have been defeated 3-0 away to Dundalk this evening – as the champions proved to be too strong for Ollie Horgan’s side.
A first-half header from former Waterford United defender Paddy Barrett gave Stephen Kenny’s side a slender lead at half-time.
However, further goals from Paddy McEleney and an OG from Ryan Curran sealed a comfortable win for Dundalk.
Harps night went from bad to worse when Ciaran Coll was worryingly stretchered off late on.
Harps were without Ciaran Gallagher who was unable to travel due to work commitments.
Gallagher has recently started work at US Multinational company Pramerica in Letterkenny.
Richard Brush made his Harps debut, while Tommy Lee McCarron was named as the substitute goalkeeper.
There was some surprises regarding team selection with MOTM from last week Tony McNamee left on the bench.
Packie Mailey was also a surprise absentee and wasn’t in the squad, while Sean Houston and Barry Molloy were ruled out after sustaining injuries in last week’s victory over Derry.
Harps won’t have long to lick their wounds as they welcome Shamrock Rovers to Finn Park on Monday night.
