OPINION POLL: Irish Water has been a hugely controversial issue since its introduction as a tax to the Irish public.
It has been met with vociferous opposition in some quarters, with thousands of people protesting nationwide against a tax many feel is ‘unjust’ and ‘unfair’.
Right2Water, Can’t Pay – Won’t Pay and other activist groups in Donegal have urged the public not to pay the charge – insisting that the boycott is winning.
However, thousands all over Ireland have paid the bill – and plans to now scrap the charge have been met by anger with those who have paid the charge.
There is confusion surrounding whether or not those who have paid would be refunded.
Fine Gael plans to continue with the Irish Water installation plans, while Fianna Fáil have proposed that Irish Water be postponed for a period of five years.
While Sinn Féin and the Independents in Government are calling for Irish Water to be disbanded.
We’re asking you what do you think the next Government should do in relation to Irish Water.
