Soccer Republic pundit and former UCD star Tony McDonnell has tipped Finn Harps to be the surprise package of the Premier Division this season.
The League of Ireland’s highlights programme showed the North-West derby clash between Finn Harps and Derry City.
When analyzing Harps famous win, McDonnell said he felt Olie Horgan’s side are underrated and dismissed suggestions they’re automatic favourites for relegation.
He also said he beleived they would win most of their homes games and are going to be the surprise package of the season.
McDonnell said, “Harps are a solid, and very well organised side.
“They’ve been tipped by many to be automatically relegated – just because they came through the back door of the play-offs.
“But I don’t agree with that, they’re a very physically side and they’ve signed some very good players.
“Barry Molloy and Dave Scully are great additions, and to be honest I think they’ll win most of their games at home.
“No team will enjoy going there and I think theyll turn over a lot of teams at Finn Park.
