The confusing roadworks outside Dungloe today.

Roadworks in West Donegal have left motorists scratching their heads in confusion.

Usually traffic lights would make people stop upon realising there are roadworks underway.

But in Meenmore, Dungloe, it was thought that a wee reminder alongside the lights advising ‘Stop here on red.’

But motorists have been left even more confused after the lights were set up – upside down!

One motorist who used the road this morning laughed “Only in Donegal. How much did it cost to set up this little escapade for the sake of just 50 yards?”
