Letterkenny Rovers FC News:
A busy time for the club at the moment continues with all eyes focused on Cork this weekend and our trip to play Ballincollig in Cork in the FAI Youth Cup quarter final. Kick off on Sunday is at 1130am and we wish Anthony Gorman and his squad well as they play in the last 8 of this competition for the fourth successive season.
Club officials will have a hectic time of it as we will also be represented at the FAI Cup first round draw which takes place in Dublin on Monday next at 5pm.
Last weeks action saw the seniors lose out at Derry City Reserves 2-1. Rovers goalscorer was Darren McElwaine. The seniors have no game this weekend.
The highlight of last weeks schoolboy action saw the u12s Crusaders win their league with a 3-1 win over Lurgy Celtic. Goalscorers were Oisin McCann, Reid Kelly and Mark Bonner. A big well done to Eddie McGrath and his troops and they will hope to celebrate in style once more with the league crown when they welcome Gweedore Celtic Cosmos to the Aura back pitch on Saturday at 1030am.
Last weekend also saw a double win for the u12s and u14s over Bonagee with both winning 2-1. Sean Freeburn and Lorcan Harvey were on target for the 12s while a Joel Gorman penalty and Nathan Plumb with a header were on the mark for the 14s.
Our u14s Crusaders lost out 3-0 at Keadue despite dominating for long periods.
This weekend sees the u12s Rovers travel to play Glenea on Sunday at 1030am while our u14s Crusaders host Kilmacrennan at the Aura at 12 noon also on Sunday. The u14s United finally get back into action when hosting Mulroy at the Aura at 1145am on Saturday.
The club would like to wish all players involved with Donegal schoolboys the best for the weekend when they face into a triple bill against Inishowen in the interleague competitions.
Michael Duffy was the lucky winner of the clubs LMS competition and walks away with a cool 300euro.Well done Michael who showed all his footballing brainpower to come through a large field and took great delight in being the last man standing.
