Pat the Cope Gallagher
Pat the Cope Gallagher has failed to be elected as his party’s nomination for the position of Ceann Comhairle.
The Fianna Fáil party instead chose Seán O’Fearghail as the party’s candidate this afternoon.
The Kildare South TD was chosen by the members ahead of Pat “the Cope” Gallagher, Brendan Smith, Michael Monyihan, and John McGuinness.
It had been thought the West Donegal TD was the favourite of the position.
