CAPPRY ROVERS
Cappry Rovers suffered a heavy defeat in Cappry Park when Kilmacrenan scored seven without reply. Cappry created a few chances in the first half but couldn’t find the net. Kilmacrenan opened the scoring on the stroke of half time against the run of play when Semi Friel broke from midfield to score from inside the area. They went close just after that when they hit the post.
Half time 0-1.
Chris Dilton got the visitors 2nd goal in the 49th minute when he beat the offside trap to score past the keeper. Worse was to follow for Cappry in the 54th minute when Dara McDaid scored from close range following a corner. Dara McDaid got his second in the 58th minute when he got to the rebound following a good save from Conor McBride in the Cappry goal. McDaid completed his hatrick on the hour mark when he headed to the net after the ball came back off the crossbar following a free kick. Cappry were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute after an infringement in the penalty area but it was saved by the keeper to show what kind of day the home team were having. Kilmacrenan got their 6th goal in the 76th minute when Gary Gorman scored from close range. Dara Gordon completed the rout in the 82nd minute when he lobbed the advancing keeper to score to the empty net.
Final score 0-7.
Conor McBride and Michael Lafferty were best for Cappry.
Dara McDaid and Chris Dilton best for Kilmacrenan.

CAPPRY ROVERS RESERVES
Castlefin Celtic recorded a fine 6-0 victory against a young Cappry Rovers side. The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute when Matthew O’Rourke latched onto a ball over the top and slotted home. Castlefin dominated throughout and Paul Logue increased their lead after his shot from 20 yards nestled in the bottom corner after 35 minutes. The second half began in the same sort of fashion and a Keith Nelis cross found Gavin McNulty who finished well at the back post on 55 minutes. The remainder of the second half was a one sided affair and the hosts increased their advantage with goals from James McMenamin, Thomas Devlin and O’Rourke. Best for Castlefin: James McMenamin and Gavin McNulty. Best for Cappry: Team performance.
Cappry are at home to Curragh next Saturday.
CAPPRY ROVERS U16’s
On Thursday evening Cappry welcomed our near neighbours, BallybofeyUtd, to Cappry Park. Cappry controlled the game from start to finish and ran out comfortable winners on a 6-2 scoreline. Kaine McGlynn (2), Luke Gavigan, Joel Bradley Walsh, Kyle O’Meara and Karl Doherty scored for Cappry.
CAPPRY CRUSADERS U16’s
On Sunday morning a depleted squad made up by a number of young players from the U14 Crusaders team made the long journey to Dunfanaghy to take on a strong Dunfanaghy Youths team. They fell behind in the early stages when Dunfanaghy scored after a mix up in the Cappry defence. Cappry got back on level terms when they were awarded a free kick in their own half which was taken by our stand in keeper, ConorMcCormack, who delivered a great kick over the Dunfanaghy defence. Shane Rowan got on the end of the delivery and showed amazing control when he took the ball on his chest and then in one fluid motion expertly chipped the ball over the advancing keeper to score to the back of the net. A real contender for goal of the season. The lads were so dazzled by his skill that they couldn’t concentrate on the rest of the game and went on to concede 6 more goals!!! Fair play and thank you to all the young lads who came and made up the numbers.

Cappry Rovers played host to the Cappry Colts team on Friday evening and proved too strong for the Colts. Rovers ran out 7-0 winners with the Colts deserving a lot of credit for the battling qualities they have shown. Great from a clubs point of view to see so many young players getting loads of football at the club.
CAPPRY COLTS U12’s
Fintown harps 0 Cappry Colts 5
The Colts travelled to Glenties on Saturday afternoon to play against the hosts Fintown. The Colts came out of the blocks fast and Niall Ryan tested the home keeper in the 1st minute, shortly after this Fintown had a great chance to open the scoring but Shea Doherty pulled off a great save to his left. The Colts linked up well through Patrick Long, Charlie Griffin and Niall Ryan to put Sean Ryan through to score after 15 minutes. Niall Ryan scored number two before halftime. Fintown battled away after the break but Niall Ryan nipped in yet again to get his 2nd and Cappry’s third shortly after the break. The Colts were now playing nice football with Darragh Carroll, Ronan Callaghan and Ethan Deery impressing. The Colts scored their 4th goal through Sean Lyons ten minutes from time after good work by EoinMcGonagle, OdhranQuigleyDoherty and Ethan Deery. Three minutes from time Niall Marley scored his 3rd goal of the season from a Patrick Long corner.
We would like to thank Fintown for a very sporting contest, match referee Seamus McGroary and the 12 Colts who all played.

Cappry Crusaders were away to the Ballybofey United Cubs on Saturday afternoon at the Finn Valley. In a very sporting contest, both teams played some nice football. Cappry took the lead through Martin Mbuli. Ballybofey got back on level terms when they scored a good goal of their own. Cappry tried hard for a winner and were unlucky when Dylan Gallagher hit the crossbar from a free kick in the last couple of minutes. In the end a draw was probably a fair result.
LAST MAN STANDING COMPETITION
Cappry’s last man standing competition is up and running. Selections will be posted on our facebook page in the next few days. Thanks to all who supported the club with this fundraiser.
