Former Donegal GAA player Daragh Gallagher is continuing his fundraising efforts for The Irish Cancer Society this weekend – by hosting a 5K event in his hometown of Glenties.
Gallagher has undergone a number of fundraising initiatives in the build-up to his participation in the London Marathon in April.
Gallagher also organised a ‘Last Man Standing’ competition (that isn’t a drinking competition) prior to Christmas and is now hosting a 5K fun/run and walk this Saturday.
The 5K event kicks-off at 11am from the Naomh Conaill GAA clubhouse, with registration open for 10.15am.
Gallagher told Donegal Daily, “Cancer has effected almost every family in Donegal in some shape or form.
“When I decided to do the London Marathon, I thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money and make a small difference.
“The Irish Cancer Society, is a wonderful organisation that does incredible work and hopefully we can get a good turnout on Saturday.
“Registration is at 10.15am from the Naomh Conaill clubhouse with the run starting at 11am sharp.
