A new programme based on inclusiveness and wellbeing which has already been launched in Falcarragh and Letterkenny will be launched in Dungloe next month.
Starting on March 5th, Dungloe parkrun is all about inclusiveness and wellbeing.
If you have never heard about parkrun before then look no further. It is an event that is set up in communities all over the world.
This will be Donegal’s third parkrun event with others in Falcarragh and Letterkenny.
It is a 5k course that is timed for the benifit of trying to beat your personal best. 5k might seem very long to some but it is a ‘run’ and not a ‘race’!
You can walk, jog, sprint, skip, hop or jump your way around the route! You can push your baby in a buggy, bring your dog (on a short leash) and it’s open to all the family!
The Dungloe parkrun event will take place every Saturday morning at 9:30am at the River Walk but you must register first.
Then simply turn up and take part. Once you are registered you will get your personal barcode which you must bring to each event.
There are parkruns all over the world and once you register once, you can take part in any of these events for free and become a parkrun tourist!
You can find more information and register at www.parkrun.ie/dungloe
Dungloe parkrun would not be possible if it wasn’t for its volunteers so please contact dungloehelpers@parkrun.com to put your name down or message the Dungloe parkrun Facebook page.
