oil spillGARDAÍ are continuing their investigation into a number of car accidents yesterday which left a woman seriously hurt.

The 53-year-old has come out of a coma following the crash just outside Lifford yesterday morning.

She had been in a critical condition.

The woman is from east Donegal and she was hurt when a car left the road about 1km outside Lifford on the main road to Letterkenny.

Garda forensic collision investigators spent yesterday examining the scene.

They have taken samples to determine the exact kind of oil involved in the fuel spill. Gardai were said to be shocked at how treacherous the road was in at the time of the spate of accidents.

The spill was one of a number on roads in east Donegal yesterday.
