Donegal star Mark McHugh has returned to training with Donegal after he was left out of the squad for their Dr McKenna Cup campaign in January.
Rory Gallagher revealed that McHugh was omitted from the squad and would be training on his own.
However, he confirmed that McHugh would be training under the supervision of the Donegal Sports Science team and his progress would be monitored.
Now The Irish Daily Star has reported that McHugh – who won an All-Star in 2012 has returned to training with the rest of the Donegal squad.
Donegal had an emphatic win over Down last Saturday night, with Mark’s brother Ryan scoring two superb goals in a stunning performance.
It’s unlikely McHugh will feature this weekend against Cork – but the news that he has returned to the Donegal squad is a great boost.
McHugh was instrumental during Jim McGuinness’s era – and enjoyed a good season last year under Rory Gallagher.
Donegal fans will be hoping he can regain that form of old and be a pivotal figure in Donegal quest to win back their Ulster SFC title.
