JOB VACANCIES: An Irish bar in the popular resort of the Costa Del Sol are on the hunt for Donegal staff to go and work in Spain.
Management of the bar have expressed that they’ve found it difficult to recruit Irish staff – and are keen on recruiting staff from Donegal.
The bar has FIVE positions available – and are keen on recruiting candidates that would relish the experience to sample another culture abroad.
A spokesman for the bar Donegal Daily, “We want friendly, confident, energetic Donegal bar staff to start work in our Benalmadena based Irish bar.
“You will get to experience 300 days of sunshine and blue skies while you work evenings only – in a big family-friendly Irish bar on the Costa Del Sol?
“We have FIVE positions available yearly for friendly, confident, energetic applicants and we are very happy to train inexperienced but suitable individuals.
“We are particularly interested in native Irish people and especially those from Donegal – who have a knack for communication and are enthusiastic enough to learn how to to make cocktails and barista style coffee.
“The work is enjoyable and sociable with the added benefit of being able to spend all day on the beach if you wish before having a shower and starting work at around 5pm.
“After tax you will receive €6 per hour into your hand with an average working week of 45hrs – it will give you a take home pay of €270.00.
“80% of our staff also receive an extra €100 in tips weekly which, on average, will equal €370.00 in your pocket each week.
“We pay weekly. Your monthly rent for a private studio will cost you between 300-400 and obviously much less if you choose to share a one or two-bedroom apartment with another person.
“Our wish is to make the transition very easy for you from the moment you land at the airport.
“You also don’t need to worry about any language barrier as 96% of the customers in our establishment are British and Irish so you can pick up a few Spanish phrases as you interact with customers throughout the season.
“What we do guarantee is that you will gain invaluable experience learning all aspects of the bar/cafe trade while having the opportunity to explore the magnificent region of Andalucia at your leisure.
“Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada are within easy reach as well as the magnificent beaches of Marbella, Nerja and Benalmadena itself.
“The only downside to the work is that it can be pretty demanding when the bar is busy and also the temperature in the height of summer can reach up to 38*C which means you’ll be sweating for about a month in July/August along with the rest of us!
“If you fancy coming to work in the Costa Del Sol and are prepared to meet the demands of a busy summer season, we would love to hear from you.
