CAPPRY ROVERS NOTES 25/01/2016
BIGGEST GAME IN CAPPRY ROVERS HISTORY
CAPPRY ROVERS U12’s
Cappry Rovers under 12’s will compete in what is the biggest game in Cappry’s history when the welcome Evergreen FC (Kilkenny) to Cappry Park on Saturday morning. They are not only representing Cappry Rovers as a club but they are also representing Donegal School Boys as Ulster Champions. They have done exceptionally well to get to this stage (last 32 in Ireland) and whatever happens on Saturday, win, lose or draw, everybody is so proud of what this young team have achieved so far in the National Cup.
Their journey started back in September 26th when they eventually beat a resilient Letterkenny Rovers team on a 5-3 score line after the game went to extra time. The next round threw up another difficult hurdle when they were drawn away to Lagan Harps. On the 17th October they travelled to Orchard Park Manor and came away with a well earned 1-0 win. The 7th November saw them back at Cappry Park where they faced Milford Utd. Milford battled hard but Cappry came through this again with a 2-0 win. They were now through to an Ulster Final where they were going to meet their toughest challenge to date when they were drawn away to Cockhill Celtic who have a great history. This was played on the 28th November and proved to be another difficult game for various different reasons. Cappry came back to Ballybofey as Ulster Champions winning the game 3-1, they were beginning to make their own history!!!
This Saturday morning they play in the round of 32 with the game kicking off at 11am. We would urge all supporters of all Cappry teams to come out on Saturday morning and give your vocal support to this team as they are not just representing the U12’s, they are representing the club. Let’s give the Evergreen side a warm welcome also as they have made a long journey all the way from Kilkenny.
Everybody associated with Cappry would like to take this opportunity to wish the management and players the very best of luck on Saturday.

CAPPRY ROVERS

Cappry are to be back in action again this weekend when they welcome Milford Utd to Cappry Park on Sunday afternoon. Milford are the only team that Cappry have managed to beat this season to date but Milford will be full of confidence coming into this game as they are currently sitting at the top of the league with a game in hand and Cappry are rooted to the foot of the table. Kick off in Cappry will be at 2pm on Sunday. We would encourage as much support as possible.
CAPPRY ROVERS RESERVES
Cappry Rovers Reserves travelled to The Moss to face Drumoghill Reserves on Saturday. Cappry battled hard in the 1st half but 2 quick goals knocked the stuffing out of the Cappry team and Drumoghill were on top for then on. Cappry defence were playing will but Drumoghill were to get another goal on the hour mark to seal the 3 points for Drumoghill.
Cappry have a free week this weekend.
CAPPRY ROVERS U12’s
Cappry Rovers entertained Killea FC on Tuesday night last and controlled the game from start to finish and won 10-0. Goal scores on the night were Luke McGlynn (4), Andrew Murray (2), Mark Mbuli (2), Daniel Marley and Joseph Gillespie.
CAPPRY COLTS AND CRUSADERS 12’s
The Colts had home advantage in what proved to be a very competitive match between 2 sets of talented players. The colts applied all the pressure and went 1-0 ahead when Niall Ryan lobbed the ball to the back of the net to put the colts in the driving seat. The Crusaders were under wave after wave of pressure as the Colts created attack after attack. The Crusaders slowly got back into the game and were awarded a penalty when Martin Mbuli was adjudged to be fouled in the box. Conor McGinty made no mistake when he fired the ball low to the left hand side of the net. Shortly after that Martin Mbuli got his 1st of the game to put the Crusaders 2-1 up. In the 2nd half both teams competed well but it was a case of the Crusaders getting the rub of the green in front of goal. Martin Mbuli got his 2nd and 3rd to put the Crusaders 4-1 ahead. Eoin McGonagle got a goal back for the Colts which give the Colts a renewed belief and give the fans a great finish to the game. The Crusaders hit the Colts on the break and Sean Crawford got the last goal of the game when he managed to force the ball to the back of the net after a shot was well saved by Shea Doherty in the Colts goal. Team performances from both teams. Even though the score line was 5-2 at the end, it doesn’t really show how competitive this game actually was. Well done to both teams.
