SOUTH DONEGAL BRANCH OF THE IRISH PONY CLUB NOTES
We are holding an Information Night for prospective members, renewing members and their parents on Friday, 5th February, at 7.30pm at MW Stables, Parkfarm, Murterneese, Doorin, Mountcharles, Co. Donegal.
We are currently accepting new members, to join our current members for a year of fun with your pony and to make new friends. Pony Club offers everything from rallies (days of instruction of riding in the various disciplines, stable management and games); competitions at local, area, national and international level, tests that build confidence in riding as well as the care of the pony in youngsters, to an extremely high standard offering a stepping stone into equine careers; equine and countryside proficiency badges and maybe the biggest event of the year is the annual camp.
The objectives of the Irish Pony Club are:
- To encourage young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding.
- To provide instruction in riding and horsemanship, and to instil in members the proper care of their animals.
- To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self-discipline.
The Irish Pony Club endeavours to promote and encourage horsemanship and loyalty in a safe and fun atmosphere for all its members and volunteers.
