A woman who was caught speeding excessively – and who subsequently failed to pay her fixed penalty notice, has been fined €350.
Francis Wray, 34, with an address at 3 Scotstown Road, Chady, Strabane appeared at a sitting of Letterkenny District Court this morning.
Mrs Wray appeared in court in relation to a speeding offence which occurred on the 13th of June, 2015.
Garda Charlene Anderson told the court, “I was operating a speed detection checkpoint at Dromore, Letterkenny.
“I detected a vehicle travelling 144km in a 100km zone – I proceeded to pull the vehicle over and told her she would be issued with a fixed penalty notice for the speeding offence.
“The fine wasn’t paid – and the defendant also has no previous convictions.
Judge James Faughnan fined the defendant €350 and gave her four months to pay.
