Workshop 2: Ethics and the 1916 Easter Rising, Central Library, Oliver Plunkett Road, Letterkenny, Thursday Jan 21st 6.30pm
This is the second session in our series of four workshops in preparation for the Feb 17th Conference, ‘Remembering 1916: Ethical & Global Perspectives’ in Mt Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, 9.30am-1pm.
This workshop will seek to expand on the standard narrative of the Easter Rising that tends to focus on the participants who died that week and those who were subsequently executed.
We will also consider the Easter Proclamation both as to the context in which it was written, and also what have been referred to as “the unfulfilled promises” of its vision of equality for all.
