Letterkenny Rovers News:
A great day at the Aura on Sunday last as the senior team defeated Dunboyne 5-4 on penalties to reach the last 16 of the FAI intermediate cup and the FAI senior Cup first round. The game finished 1-1 after extra time with Darren McElwaine scoring for Rovers. All 5 penalties were converted in the shootout and after Paul McVeigh, McElwaine, Conal McGonagle and Terence Shields scored it was Paul Boyle who hit the winning penalty after Rory Kelly had saved Dunboynes last spot kick. The club will now play Midleton on Sunday week at Leckview.
This Sunday sees League action when the boys travel to play Swilly Rovers. Kick off at 2pm.
Schoolboy action last weekend saw the u12s Crusaders defeat Keadue 3-1. Goalscorers were Cian McGrath x2 and Mark Bonner.
The u12s Rovers drew 1-1 at Mulroy. Corey McCarron on the mark there.
U14 action saw Crusaders lose out to Glenea 5-2. Goalscorers were Jason Blake and Paul McFadden while the u14s United lost to Ballyraine 4-0.
This weeks action begins on Saturday when the u12 Rovers head to play Swilly at 1030am while our two u14s sides –Rovers and Crusaders do battle at the Aura at 1145am. The u16s are away to Bonagee at 2pm.
Sunday sees the u12s Crusaders head to Milford Blues while the u14s United host Gweedore United at the Aura at noon.
Last man standing commences this weekend and all sheets to be returned to Eric or Kieran. €10 per entry and are available from the usual sources.
