The Club AGM will take place in Caisleain Oir Annagry next Monday 18th January starting at 9pm. The club has had a very strong year with a great working committee and many new committee members and coaches coming on board. As the club continues to grow and develop it is important to get the right structures and people in place. All athletes, parents, coaches are asked to please come along and provide your input to the club direction for 2016. Open to all members and non members.
Sportshall Athletics has started again on Mondays in RCS gym, Dungloe. First group is from 5:45pm to 6:45pm for athletes born 2006, 2007 and 2008 with coaches Leeanne Sharkey and Emer McGee. Second session is from 6:45pm to 7:45pm for athletes born 2005 and older with coaches Louise Gillespie and Sean McGinley. Fee is two euro.
The Donegal Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics for small schools is scheduled for Wednesday 13th January at 11am in Donegal Town with Roshine, Maghery and Acres National Schools all through to Finals.
The Donegal Secondary Schoools 1st Year Sportshall Athletcis is scheduled for Friday 15th January at 11am in Deele College, Raphoe where Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, Rosses Coommunity School and PCC Falcarragh are all through to Finals.
There is sprints training for juvenile athletes born 2002 and older on Wednesday evenings in the Industrial Estate in Gweedore from 7pm to 7:45pm with coaches Fergal McGee and Sean McGinley. Meet at Euroflex.
Adult training sessions have reverted back to Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Estate in Gweedore starting at 7pm. These are group sessions open to all levels of adult athletes from beginners, people looking to transition from Couch-To-5k to next level and experienced and Senior level athletes. We had a number of newcomers last week which was great to see. Paul McGee will continue to coordinate the more experienced athletes with Niall Griffin coordinating the beginner and Novice level athletes. Open to public and not just Rosses members. Meet at Euroflex. All levels of athletes or runners welcome. Sunday long runs starting from the Blue Bridge – check with Paul for times.
Last Sunday saw Ciaran McGonigle and Kevin McGee get back to racing in the St. Johnstone 5k. John McCallion had an excellent run when he placed 3rd with a time of 16:04.
