SNOW showers are on their way to Donegal tomorrow – with temperatures set to plunge to a chilly -6C.
North westerly winds touching 100km/hr will hit the county tomorrow and bring between 2cm and 5cm of snow – although this will be worst on the Donegal hills.
Arctic winds will make it feel even colder.
It will remain windy on Wednesday before a period of calmer weather on Thursday and Friday.
This will lead to sharp overnight frosts and temperatures will fall to -6C at night – rising to 6C or 7C in the sunshine in the afternoons with the odd wintry shower.
Saturday is set to be milder and dry and sunny, say the forecasters.
Today’s forecast from Met Eireann: Early frost and ice soon clearing, to give a cold, windy, showery day. Some of the showers heavy and of hail and with possibly some thunder too. Top temperatures just 3 to 7 C. Strong and gusty northwesterly winds on Atlantic coasts early on, will extend to all areas later.
