THIS is one of County Donegal’s most scenic woodlands – after it has been trashed by mindless litter louts.
Corravaddy Woods, just outside Letterkenny, is owned and maintained by Coillte Forestry.
It draws in people from all over the county for walks, with its impressive walks and views over Lough Swilly.
Last weekend there was even a 5k through the area.
But this is what it looked like today.
Bags of rubbish have been left strewn around the place.
Not far away, beer cans and drinks bottles have added to the sickening destruction of one of the county’s best visitor attractions.
More rubbish has been dumped inside shopping bags and bin liners.
Donegal Daily has asked Donegal County Council to investigate this vandalism….hopefully there are clues in those bags as to who was behind this.
“I couldn’t believe what I saw there today,” said one local man who was at the forest for a walk.
“I cannot understand what’s inside the mind of anyone who would destroy our countryside like this. They’re just scum.”
