That’s how the Donegal Town animal welfare charity ‘Animals In Need Donegal’ has described those responsible for dumping 13 wee pups in the pound.
The charity believes they were reared for the Christmas market – and when they weren’t sold, they were abandoned, leaving the charity workers to once again pick up the pieces.
In a message to the cruel breeders, the charity said: “You couldn’t make a quick buck and sell your pups for Christmas so you dumped them in the dog pound.
“While you were deciding what outfit you were going to wear out to celebrate New Years Eve we were trying to figure out where we were going to put 2 litters of pups, 13 in total, into our already bursting at the seams foster homes. I hope you found the perfect shoes to match your outfit, we were kitted out in our not so glamorous wellies and it was far from Chanel No.5 we smelled of.
“New Year’s Eve, irrelevant to us, we had to find somewhere safe for your pups, but we did it.
“As you lie dying from your hangover (and I hope it’s a good one) your pups a distant memory, spare a thought for the volunteers who gave up their New Year’s Eve to make sure your pups would get a fighting chance of a happy life.
Oh and thanks, the fleas were an added bonus.”
Please help Animals In Need Donegal care for the animals they rescue.
