Controversial RTE TV GAA pundit Joe Brolly is the special guest for this Saturday night’s Termon GAA dinner dance.
The function is at the Lagoon Lounge and those attending are advised that it will start at 6.30pm.
An All-Ireland winner with his native Derry in 1993 Brolly was one of the country’s top GAA players for a decade and broke Donegal hearts with a late goal in the 1998 Ulster Final Clones that killed off Declan Bonner’s of managing his county to provincial glory.
The Belfast based barrister is a regular visitor to the county where he has a house in the Glenswilly area.
It’s been a historic year for the Termon with the club winning it’s first ever All-Ireland Club title at the end of November. Indeed the Burn Road outfit is the only club from Donegal to ever lift a national club title. So the defeat of Cork team Mourneabbey in the decider will definitely go down in history as will the performance of the brilliant Geraldine McLaughlin who scored 3-8 in the decider and was involved in the other four scores that made up Termon’s total of 3-12 in Tuam.
Also in attendance on Saturday night will be the President of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association Pat Quill, Minister for the Gaeltacht DeputyJoe McHugh TD and of course the Dolores Tyrell All-Ireland Ladies Club Championship Cup.
Due to the nature of this stellar line-up, the event has had to be brought forward and will now commence at 6:30 in The Lagoon on this Saturday 3rd January. Tickets are priced at €25 for adults and €20 for students. Tickets can be purchased from any committee member. For more information, contact Lisa McCafferty 0863527015.
