GOLF LOGOOtway Golf News

After a busy winter so far at Otway, a big percentage of members have either bagged a bird or snared a hamper, with only the chance of a bottle to wash it all down with left to play for this Sunday 21st.

Last Saturday members battled it out for the festive hampers, and after the usual stories of lucky chip-ins, a ball stuck in a tree (in Otway ???) and extended placing, a winner was declared in Brendan Gallagher on BoT from Noel Fisher who took second spot. Philip Friel claimed the gross prize, and Noel Kiernan took third, with the nines going to Dave Hughes and Peter Friel. The absence of ‘Rathmullan’ winners was balanced up somewhat in the Sunday scramble when Pat McNulty and Damian Gallagher bagged a bird, joined by Ballyare’s Patsy Gallagher. Congratulations to all the winners and participants who just keep trying, and the committee wish all it’s members and guests a very happy and healthy Christmas and a peaceful new year!
