Buncrana GAA Notes
Hard to believe it but it’s that time of year again and the secret is out! Santa will be taking time out of his busy schedule to spend a few hours in the Scarvey this Saturday, 20th December 2.00-5.30.
This will be his last outing before the big day so make the best of it. The Club is looking for a donation of €5 per child with a maximum of €20 per family. We’re sure there will be tots of fun and entertainment on the day and tea, coffee, mince pies galore. Everyone is very welcome…but especially the kids of course!
If anyone has any unwanted Christmas decorations or lights then please donate them to the club to get the place ready for Santa’s visit. Anyone who can volunteer a couple of hours for wrapping pressies, helping out on the day, making mince pies or other treats, etc, is most welcome, just let Claire or Grainne know. Ho-ho-ho!
It was a disappointing outcome for Clubman Gary Duffy who narrowly lost out on election as County Coaching Officer at Convention on Sunday. We know that Gary, who is held in high regard for his coaching abilities will bounce back from this and it’s only a matter time for him.
Better news for another Clubman, County Minor star John Campbell who is off to Australia for a short spell for an Aussie Rules experience. Good luck John!
Check out the updated Club website – buncranagaa.com – where we’re doing a bit of revamping. Hopefully we’ll have the decorations and tree up there for Christmas! Any good photos you have that we could upload would be much appreciated, email them to buncrana.pro@gmail.com. You can renew your annual membership there too – and you don’t even have to be in Buncrana! Membership now open worldwide…an ideal Christmas present for all the family!
GAA National Draw
The Club is participating in the GAA National Draw – There are fantastic prizes, including a trip for two to New York, a €1,000 shopping voucher, not to mention a trip next year with the All Stars and various corporate packages for the All-Ireland’s 2015!
You can enter the draw online at www.buncranagaa.com/national-club-draw-2015/. Please enter and help to raise funds that are totally used to aid the development of Buncrana’s young people and to make our community better for everyone.
Cursa Gaeilge
Rang Deireannach – Unless we hear otherwise the final Irish language class of 2014 will take place this Tuesday in the Clubhouse.
Scór na nÓg
A great achievement once again by our Scór na nÓg group in the Ulster semi-final in Glenullin last Sunday in their winning drama, “Sean Carraigeacha na hÉireann”. Comhghairdeas le gach duine i gceist ach go háirithe na páistí agus an stiúrthóir Patricia Tinney.
Bord na nOg Presentation Photos
Team photos (including U6’s) available for €8
Player/most improved of the year/presentation photos available for €5
All proceeds go to the club. Contact Aidan on 0862762671
