Twin Towns boxer Donna Barr has won an Irish Intermediate boxing championships in the National Stadium Dublin.
Donna, who boxes at 50kg, defeated K. McCarthy of Golden Cobra B.C. Dublin by unanimous decision. The scores outpointed her opponent 40-36, 40-36, 39-37.
She dominated all four rounds by working on the back foot and landing clean singular lefts and rights and every time her opponent came forward she picked her off.
This is Donna’s third Irish National title for the Twin Towns Boxing Club.
Her club mate Paul Kelly was also in action on Saturday in the semi-finals boxing at middle weight where he also won.
He now boxes in the finals next Friday night in the National Stadium with the championships being televised live on TG4 next Friday night.
