Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for Donegal as strong winds and torrential rain get set to hit the county.

Gardaí have advised motorists to take extreme caution when driving as the combination of both elements will make driving extremely dangerous.

The Orange Status alert has been put in place for twenty-four hours, but it could be extended into Saturday morning.
Forecasters hope the adverse weather will clear by Saturday, but have warned that temperatures will plummet from next week on as winter gets ready to move in.
The Orange Status alert was also issued to Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare and Longford.
