St Eunan’s, Letterkenny 0-15 St Mary’s, Magherafelt 1-4
ST EUNAN’S, Letterkenny never looked like losing this game played in glorious conditions in Steelstown. They hit the ground running and were good value for their interval lead of 0-7 to 0-2.
They then pushed on during the second half and the Magherafelt goal, from Ben McKinless, was effectively a consolation score, coming in the last couple of minutes of play.
Letterkenny were four points up before Ronan O’Kane scored St Mary’s first point but scores from Sean Mc Donagh, Ciaran Maloney and David Tyrrell stretched their advantage before half time.
In the opening ten minutes of the second half, they again added four points through Rory Carr (2), James McSharry and Niall O’Donnell before Adam McLaverty pulled one back for the Convent.
But with Tyrell, O’Donnell and Carr playing well, there was no way back for St Mary’s who have now completed their programme.
St Eunan’s for their play bottom side St Macartan’s in a last game that is really a dead rubber with neither side able to alter their finishing position.
