A COCKHILL Celtic player has been cleared of using words of a racist nature during a match against Letterkenny Rovers.

The FAI investigation followed the club’s meeting in a FAI Intermediate Cup game in October.

The two Ulster Senior League clubs met with the Disciplinary Controls Unit at Abbotstown on Wednesday.

The unit found the allegations not proven having spoken to both clubs and the referee.

However a Cockhill Celtic player was found guilty of offensive behaviour and given a three match ban.
