SENIORS
Cappry Rovers were away to Cranford On Sunday and continued their great start to the season with Benny McLaughlin nicking it for Cappry in the last minute of the game.
Cappry started the game on the front foot and soon took the lead when Benny McLaughlin beat the Cranford defender and crossed for Aaron Kelly to place the ball in the back of the net.
Cranford came back into it after the Cappry goal and soon grabbed one of their own.
They could have taken the lead but for Eoin Gallen in the Cappry goal saving a Cranford penalty.
Benny got the 1st of his 2 goals before half time to put Cappry back in the lead. The 2nd half was very tight and even when Cranford were reduced to 10 men, they brought the game to Cappry and found an equaliser.
It looked to be heading for a draw before Benny came to the rescue.
CAPPRY ROVERS UNDER 18’s
The under 18’s had a free weekend. They are due to play Keadue Rovers on Saturday in Central Park, Keadue.
CAPPRY ROVERS UNDER 16’s
This game was played in good conditions for football on Tuesday night.
Cappry started well and should have taken the lead in the 9th minute when Daire McCafferty’s cross found Sean McBride who controlled well but blazed his shot over the bar.
The home team kept pressing for the opening goal but Lagan’s defence held out well and with their keeper making a few fine saves from both Karl Doherty and Sean McBride.
Lagan were always a threat on the break and kept the Cappry defence on their toes.
Cappry started to pile on the pressure at the start of the 2nd half but it took until the 52nd minute before they got the breakthrough. It came after some fine play from Jamie Keegan who then crossed for Daire McCafferty who finished superbly when he chipped his effort in at the back post.
But Lagan did not give up and they drew level in the 56th minute when Ciaran Daffan pounced on a mistake in the Cappry defence to round the home teams keeper and tap into an empty net.
The game was in the balance, but in the 64th minute Cappry went in front again after Sean McBride was fouled on the edge of the box.
From the free kick Oisin Gallen found Chad McShorley who made no mistake with his header from 6 yards.
In the 70th min the home team wrapped up the points when Lagan could only clear Oisin Gallen’s corner to the edge of the box to N.P McDaid who’s shot found the bottom corner.

Cappry started this cup game well and were well on top from the start.
The home side were unlucky not to go 1 up in the 5th minute when Karl McGlynn found Kyle O’Meara at the back post but he saw his shot come back off the post.
The home side kept pressing for the goal that their play deserved and they finally got it in the 12th minute when Karl McGylnn’s shot found the bottom corner.
The home side doubled their lead in the 15th when Sean McBride finished well in the box.
In the 20th minute the home side made it 3-0 when after a driving run Chad McShorley was fouled in the box. Sean McBride made no mistake from the spot sending the Ballybofey keeper the wrong way.
In the 25th minute Kyle O’Meara seen his terrific header from an Odhran Doherty cross come back off the crossbar.
Shaun Rodgers picked up the clearance and went on a great run before cutting back and crossing to Sean McBride who scored with a stunning volley.
The home team were playing really well at this stage and were passing the ball really well.
To their credit Ballybofey never gave up and worked hard trying to contain the home team.
In 53rd minute Cappry made it 5 when Oisin Gallen crossed to Rory Mulligan who put his header in the top corner.
In the 65th minute Cappry made it 6 when Rory Mulligan crossed for Luke Gavigan who headed home from 6 yards.
Ballybofey kept going and in the 73rd minute Anthony Bruton forced Jamie Bell into a smart save.

CAPPRY ROVERS UNDER 14’s
The under 14’s had a free weekend but are back in league action again on Saturday with a home game against Drumkeen Utd, 12.30pm Kick off.
The U14 Crusaders had another good win in the Letterkenny and District League in Cappry Park on Sunday. They defeated Letterkenny Crusaders 8-3.
They’re away to Bonagee Arcade this weekend.
CAPPRY ROVERS UNDER 12’s
The U12’s played Curragh Athletic in Killygordon on Saturday in a game that pitted 1st against 2nd.
The game finished 2-2 with Oisin McGlinchey and Luke McGlynn getting the Cappry goals.
They are playing Lagan Harps in Cappry Park this Friday evening with a 7pm kick off.
The Crusaders were away to Letterkenny Utd at the weekend and were beaten 4-2 on the day. They are at home this weekend to Glencar Hammers.
The Colts continued their good start with another good win. They beat Lurgy Celtic 1-0 with Darragh Porter getting the goal. They are away to Letterkenny Crusaders this weekend.
