NAOMH CONAILL club leaders have tonight expressed their anger at their failure to have their game against Glenswilly replayed.
The Glenties based club had asked for their county championship semi-final to be replayed after the referee in their semi-final against Glenswilly last Sunday failed to send off a player who had already been yellow-carded.
When he later received a black card, he should have been given a red card and sent off. Instead Glenswilly were able to replace him.
Naomh Conaill’s appeal against the result was turned down by Donegal county board executives. An appeal to the Ulster Council was refused at lunchtime today.
In a statement tonight, Naomh Conaill said: “CLG Naomh Conaill received notification from the Ulster Council in relation to our appeal and now wish to state that we feel extremely aggrieved at the decisions reached by both the CCC Donegal and the Ulster Council with regard to the matter.”
Glenswilly play St Eunan’s in the county final tomorrow.
