THERE was heartache for Carndonagh Ladies after they lost the Ulster Ladies Junior Final in the dying minutes to St Dympna’s of Dromore at Celtic Park in Derry this afternoon.
The Carn ladies have had a fabulous season and can hold their heads high after going all the way to the final.
The Donegal champions led early on thanks to two goals, leading 2-05 to 0-05.
And it was a lead they would hold well into the second half.
With six minutes to go, they still held a three point lead – 3-07 to 1-10.
But the Tyrone junior champions came back and the Carndonagh dream of Ulster glory fell apart.
St Dympna’s fired over a point, before hitting a goal and added two more to win 2-13 to 3-07, a three point win.
The Carndonagh Ladies however can be proud for a club which only began ladies football a few years ago.
