The weather was not particular nice this weekend. But luckily it was worse at night time and people were still able to enjoy the course on each day of the weekend. We had a number of societies at the club on Saturday and Sunday.
A number of the societies had breakfast pre booked at the club. They all commented on it being a great way to start there day at the golf course. If any society is interested in taking up this food/golf option, please contact Mary or Sarah for details on the different packages available.
Well done to St. Michael’s who defeated Dungloe in the Quarter Final. They now have to face St. Eunan’s this coming weekend and we wish them the best of luck from everyone at the club.
Congratulations to St. Michael’s U16 team who won the championship at the weekend. Our past Captain Michael Kelly is part of the management team for the u16’s. Well done Michael.
The Men’s Captain –v- Presidents competition is on Saturday 25th of October 2014. This will be run in a 4BBB format and there is a sign on sheet on the notice board for anyone wishing to take part. All names need to be on the sign on sheet before Thursday the 23rd of October 2014. The time sheet is booked from 12.08am to 13.04pm to accommodate this competition. This competition was a great success in years gone by. We have moved it to the Halloween weekend because there was so much golf happening in August. Let’s see if we can get this competition up and running again and enjoy the evening in the clubhouse after the golf. The Brian Mc Ginley GOY Competition is on this Sunday the 26th October. All persons wishing to qualify for end of year competition (top Twenty0 should get their name on the timesheet for Sunday.
I can confirm that there is a sheet regarding anyone interested in the Gaeltacht league is now on the notice board. Please make sure to put your name and contact details on the sheet if you are interested in playing the league this winter. Sorry about the delay. The first match is on the 1st of November 2013 away to Gweedore.
We have started sociable evenings on the Friday evenings in the clubhouse again. The clubhouse will open from 4pm from this Friday onwards. There will be free bites for anyone that comes to the clubhouse on the Friday evenings. What better way to start the weekend.
The Winter Open 4BBB competition has just started on the 1st of October. This competition is great because you can play any day of the week, with whoever you want and as many times as you want until you qualify. There are four monthly winners each month who go forward to the Grand Final on the 21st of June 2014. The first three pairs qualify automatically and then the fourth pair will be the best recorded score by a 4BBB made up of club members each month. The 4BBB can be any combination and it would be great to see mixed pairs taking part as a follow on from the great competition ran by John and Cheryl Chambers this summer. All details of the competition can be seen on posters displayed in the clubhouse.
