Mary Sweeney recently gave seven of her grandchildren piggy banks to do a collection for the Fergus Cleary Romanian appeal.
The aim was to buy goats and hens for families known to Fergus in Romania and between them the children collected a total of €213.70 over a six week period.
The money was collected from their pocket money, loose change that came into their paths and so on.
Every car and pocket was not safe from the loose change scavengers!
They were very proud handing over the money to Emma Bulugn, the Romanian representative, at the weekend.
