It’s unlikely this book will attract the same controversy as Roy Keane’s new book but it’s sure to be big seller in this county at least in the run up to Christmas.
Over two hundred Invited guests and friends of the former Abbey Vocational School teacher gathered to hear Councillor Tom Conaghan say he was “delighted and honoured to be asked to launch this book”
“Malachy and I go back a long way and I’m delighted to see so many people here tonight,” he said.
The Mayor of Donegal Town; Patricia Callaghan was also there and referring to a few anecdotes in the book said it was a “fabulous read and a massive achievement.”
The author himself then took to the plinth and modestly acknowledged his literary achievement .
He thanked his wife Gorreti, sons Barry, Dermot and Brian, and other family members for their support. A special mention was given to Michael Cassidy.
Colm & Rosaleen O Rourke were the perfect hosts for the evening, their bookshop is the ideal venue for a local book launch with support from Joan, Annettee and Orla.
Colm told Donegal Daily “Malachy’s first book Sands of Time was a great success for us so we were delighted to be all back here again tonight.”
