SENIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Saturday evening saw Four Masters make the short journey through the gap to play us in the second round of the Senior Championship.
In the reserve game Mac Cumhaills never really got going and were always behind.
There were some good displays from the elder statesmen of the team with Bernard Mc Geehan scoring 0-04 and Maurice Lafferty scoring 0-01.
The other point for Mac Cumhaills was well taken by young Michael Duignam.
The Senior match started well for Four Masters scoring early points.
Mac Cumhaills were well in the game with Marty O Reilly and Rory Dunleavy causing all manner of problems for the Donegal town defence.
A ridiculous decision in the 25th min had serious reprecussions for Mac Cumhaills.
With Mac Cumhaills just 3 points down, Rory Dunleavy was black carded for an innocuous challenge and Four Masters pressed on and scored a further 1-02 in the last 5 minutes of the half.
Half time score was Mac Cumhaills 0-05 Four Masters 1-10.
Four Masters took control of the second half and never let Mac Cumhaills threaten.
It was a disappointing result for the lads but we still have all to play for next Saturday.
A win against Ardara will see us through to the quarter finals.
