Margo O’Donnell has revealed how she has heard the most bizarre rumours about herself – including one that she was her brother Daniel’s mother.

The singer lays all her cards on the table with the release today of her autobiography ‘The Promise and the Dream.’
Margo reveals that she always wanted to get married and have kids but things never worked out in that way for her.
But the singer, who was a huge star in her heyday, said she has heard all sorts of rumours about herself.
“I remember playing in Donegal Town one night and even at a tender young age the rumours had started. I heard a story going around that I was pregnant. I was totally shocked.
“I wasn’t pregnant. It wasn’t the done thing in those days to get pregnant out of wedlock in rural Ireland.
“Rumours about me being pregnant or having children were to continue throughout my life, including that I was actually Daniel’s mother – this, despite the fact that there are only ten years between us in age, so it would have ben classed as a minor miracle if I were his mother,” she said.
However Margo said she wished she had have had a child.
“I love children and if I was young today without or without having a husband. The path I longed for in life was to be a nurse, get married, have children and live happily together, but that was not to be,” she added.
