St Eunan’s will be gunning for revenge when they clash with Malin this weekend in their opening fixture in the Donegal SFC.
Malin caused one of the biggest upsets ever in the Donegal SFC when they dumped the then reigning county champions St.Eunan’s out of the championship at the quarter-final stage.
Malin defeated Eunan’s by eight points in an utterly sensational performance that sent shockwaves through the county.
The surprise package almost reached the county final but were narrowly defeated by a dogged Killybegs side.
They’ve had a decent league campaign so far, and are starting to establish themselves as a top-tier club.
Eunan’s have blooded youth this season in the league, but still have plenty of experience to back them up.
Rory Kavanagh, Conall Dunne, Eamon Doherty and Kevin Rafferty will all be key players for the Letterkenny men in the forthcoming championship.
Eunan’s still have a quality squad, and while they might be undergoing a transitional period, their tradition would indicate you’d be a fool to write them off.
Malin will obviously be confident having defeated them so comfortably last season, but I expect Eunan’s to have a bit more nous this time and they’ll be no complacency on their behalf.
VERDICT – ST EUNAN’S
