A man has been airlifted to hospital by the coastguard after he was injured on board a ship off Donegal.
The sailor was on a Liberian ship that was passing the Donegal coastline when he was injured in an accident, it is understood.
The Malin Head coastguard was alerted to the incident at around 3am and the rescue 118 helicopter was dispatched from Co Sligo soon afterwards.
The man is thought to have injured his chest and he was brought on board the coast guard helicopter using a winch.
The Irish Air Corps is reported to have provided support during the operation.
