Jim McGuinness has revealed he could remain on as Donegal manager for a fifth season.
McGuiness will lead Donegal out to Croke Park on Sunday the 21st in what is the last year of his 4 year term with Donegal.
However, he refused to rule out the possibility of returning next season regardless of the result in the All-Ireland SFC final against Kerry.
Many GAA pundits believe McGuinness will step aside after the All-Ireland final against Kerry to focus on his job as a sports psychologist with Celtic FC.
However, McGuinness revealed on Newstalk that just because it was his last year, didn’t mean he wasn’t going to stay on next season.
McGuinness told Newstalk, “It’s the last year of a four-year term – but that doesn’t mean I won’t be back next year.
The news will come as a great boost for Donegal supporters, who are desperate to see McGuinness remain on as manager.
Under his tenure, Donegal have won three Ulster SFC titles, and one All-Ireland title, and obviously have an opportunity to win a second All-Ireland when they play Kerry next week.
McGuinness is hoping to come up successful for the second time in 2 years.
He will take his the team on another intense training camp for five days, and he prepares his side to try and reclaim the Sam Maguire for the second time in his reign as manager.
