TOP telly presenter Christine Bleakley is in Donegal – filming a new TV series which will be seen by millions of people in Britain.
The fiancée of soccer star Frank Lampard says she’s delighted to be back here, because she spent many childhood holidays in Ireland’s most beautiful county.
The Co Down celebrity is fronting a six-part series on the Wild Atlantic Way which will be broadcast on a prime time ITV next spring.
The show is set to help bring thousands of extra tourists here next year.
The series is a new initiative by Tourism Ireland.
Filming for the new TV series is under way right now; it will highlight the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way to millions of viewers – or potential holidaymakers – across Britain.
Christine said: “It’s brilliant to be here in Ireland filming for this great new ITV series.
“Growing up, we always enjoyed holidaying in Donegal and Galway and drives along the stunning Atlantic coast – so, this is a dream job for me.”
Supporting this series is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s extensive programme of promotions to highlight the Wild Atlantic Way around the world.
The Wild Atlantic Way is being promoted by Tourism Ireland across a range of platforms including TV, print and online advertising; on Ireland.com and through social media channels; at major international consumer and trade fairs; through familiarisation visits for influential travel agents, tour operators, as well as travel and lifestyle journalists and bloggers from around the world; and through Tourism Ireland’s promotional material and brochures.
