Finn Harps have been handed a dream draw after they were paired to play the winners of Avondale/St.Michael’s in the FAI cup quarter-final.
Harps earned a fantastic away victory against Wexford Youths on Friday winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Tommy Mc Monagle and Michael Funston.
Their reward for that victory is a meeting with the only non-league sides left in the competition.
Harps would be hot favourites to overcome either of the minnows, although an away draw is a logistical nightmare for Ollie Horgan and his charges.
Avondale are based in Cork while St.Michael’s are from Tipperary, and with the game being scheduled to be played on a Sunday afternoon, it will be an early start for the Ballybofey side.
Avondale and St.Michael’s play each other in their replay tonight, so Harps will know exactly who they’ll face later this evening.
